Rest In Peace John Enloe
September 13, 1953 - May 8, 2016

John passed away peacefully early in the morning
on May 8th, 2016 with his son Steven at his side.
John was the funniest person I ever met. Every time
I called him, he answered the phone with something
that would make me laugh. In the summer of 1971,
our favorite band was Wishbone Ash and we saw
them perform at the Satsop Rock Festival during the
Labor Day weekend that year. The festival was
mostly a muddy disaster, but John helped make it
a fun, memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
In the 90s and 2000s, John ran a successful house
painting business and we hired him to paint our house.
I remember coming home from work one day and
seeing that he and his brother Rick had cut a square
shape out of the plastic over our front window, turning
it into a caricature of a TV set. So our two little dogs,
looking out the window, were on TV. A few years later, he
and Rick airbrushed one of my basses, transforming it into a
beautiful tribute to John Lennon. I will treasure it forever.
